Main Characters and Their Development

• Riquet with the Tuft - the main character of the fairy tale, a prince born with a tuft on his head and very intelligent but not handsome. He has the gift of bestowing his intelligence on another person. Throughout the story, Riquet falls in love with a princess and uses his gift to make her intelligent, while she, in turn, makes him handsome, showing that true beauty lies in love and kindness.
• The Princess - the second main character, born very beautiful but foolish. She suffers from her foolishness and envies her younger sister, who is intelligent. Upon meeting Riquet, she receives intelligence from him and falls in love with him, allowing her to see his inner beauty and make him outwardly attractive.
