Summary
«Catching Fire» is the second book in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy. In this installment, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return home after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games. However, their triumph sparks unrest in the districts, and President Snow threatens Katniss, demanding she convince everyone of her love for Peeta and quell the uprising. Soon, the 75th Hunger Games, known as the Quarter Quell, are announced, where past victors must compete again. Katniss and Peeta find themselves back in the arena, fighting not only for their lives but for the future of Panem. During the games, they ally with other tributes to survive and resist the Capitol. By the end of the book, Katniss learns that her rescue was part of a rebellion plan and that District 13 exists and is preparing for war against the Capitol.
