Main Characters and Their Development

• Ed Kennedy: The main character of the book, a young cab driver living an ordinary and unremarkable life. His life changes when he accidentally prevents a bank robbery and starts receiving mysterious playing cards with tasks. As he completes these tasks, Ed begins to change, becoming more confident and realizing he can impact the lives of others.
• Audrey: Ed's best friend and secret love. She works in the taxi business with Ed. Audrey is afraid of falling in love and opening up to someone, but as the story progresses, she begins to understand her feelings for Ed and opens up to him.
• Marv: Ed's friend, who initially seems rough and selfish. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Marv has his own issues and deeply cares about his friends. He helps Ed with his missions and supports him.
• Ritchie: Another friend of Ed's, who appears lazy and indifferent to life. However, as Ed completes his tasks, Ritchie begins to change and seek meaning in his own life. He also supports Ed and helps him.
