Main Characters and Their Development

• Darya Dmitrievna Bulavina - one of the main characters, she goes through numerous trials, from life in St. Petersburg to participating in revolutionary events. Her character evolves from a naive girl to a strong and independent woman.
• Katerina Dmitrievna Bulavina - Darya's sister, also endures difficult times, her life intertwines with the revolution and civil war. She becomes more determined and purposeful.
• Vadim Roshchin - an officer in love with Darya. His journey takes him through war and revolution, transforming from a romantic hero to a man who realizes the cruelty and injustice of the world.
• Ivan Ilyich Telegin - a revolutionary, Katerina's husband, who undergoes many trials, his character develops from an idealist to someone who understands the complexity and contradictions of the revolution.
• Alexei Krasilnikov - a Bolshevik who plays a significant role in the lives of the main characters, his character demonstrates dedication to the ideals of the revolution and a readiness for self-sacrifice.
