Summary

In the book «Death with Interruptions», José Saramago tells the story of a country where the population suddenly stops dying. Initially perceived as a blessing, this leads to problems: overcrowded hospitals, economic difficulties, and social unrest. People begin to realize that death is necessary to maintain balance in the world. Soon, death returns but with new rules: it warns people a week before their demise.
