Summary
The book tells the story of a boy named Gelsomino, who possesses an extraordinarily loud voice. He finds himself in the Country of Liars, where everyone is forced to lie by order of King Giacomone. In this land, cats bark, dogs meow, bread is called ink, and ink is called bread. Gelsomino decides to help the inhabitants free themselves from the tyranny of lies. Together with new friends, including a talking cat named Zopino, he begins a fight for the truth. As a result of their efforts, the king loses his power, and truth and justice are restored in the country. Gelsomino teaches the residents to speak the truth, and his loud voice becomes a symbol of change.
