Summary

The book «Mort» tells the story of a young man named Mort, whom his father takes to a fair to find him a job. Unexpectedly, Mort becomes the apprentice of Death himself. Death takes him under his wing and teaches him all the intricacies of his profession. However, Mort soon faces moral dilemmas when he must choose between fulfilling his duties and saving the life of Princess Keli, whom he falls in love with. Mort's interference in the course of events leads to a disruption of the laws of time and space, causing chaos. Ultimately, Mort must correct his mistakes to restore balance in the world.
