• Puss in Boots: A clever and resourceful cat who helps his master, the miller's youngest son, achieve wealth and a high social standing. The cat uses cunning and deception to achieve his goals, but does so with good intentions.
• The miller's youngest son: A poor and hopeless young man who inherits only a cat. Thanks to the cleverness and resourcefulness of his cat, he becomes wealthy and marries the princess.
• The King: The ruler of the kingdom, who is impressed by the wealth and intelligence of the miller's youngest son (presented as the Marquis of Carabas) and agrees to his marriage to the princess.
• The Princess: The king's daughter, who falls in love with the miller's youngest son and marries him.
• The Ogre: An evil and powerful sorcerer who can transform into various animals. Puss in Boots tricks and kills him to take over his castle and riches.
