Summary

The play «The Forest» by Alexander Ostrovsky tells the story of the life of the landowner Gurmyzhskaya, who owns a forest and lives on her estate. She plans to sell the forest to marry off her niece Aksyusha to someone she doesn't love. Meanwhile, Gurmyzhskaya's nephew, the actor Neschastlivtsev, arrives at the estate with his friend, the actor Schastlivtsev. They decide to help Aksyusha and expose Gurmyzhskaya's selfish plans. Ultimately, thanks to their efforts, Aksyusha finds her happiness, and Gurmyzhskaya realizes her mistakes.
