Summary

The novel "The Luzhin Defense" tells the story of Alexander Ivanovich Luzhin, a talented chess player who shows extraordinary skills in the game from a young age. However, his genius in chess is accompanied by social awkwardness and emotional instability. Luzhin achieves great success in chess, but his obsession with the game leads to a nervous breakdown. After treatment, he tries to return to normal life and even gets married, but his past and chess continue to haunt him.
