Summary

The play «All My Sons» is set in post-war America. The main character, Joe Keller, is a successful businessman who supplied engines for military aircraft during World War II. One day, his factory sent out a batch of defective engines, leading to the deaths of 21 pilots. Joe managed to avoid punishment by shifting the blame onto his partner, Steve Deever, who ended up in prison. Joe's son, Larry, went missing in action during the war, and his fiancée Ann, Steve's daughter, comes to visit the Kellers. It soon becomes clear that Larry committed suicide after learning of his father's crime. In the play's finale, Joe realizes his guilt and takes his own life, unable to withstand the moral pressure.
