Main Characters and Their Development

• Wanda (Wanderer) - an alien Soul who inhabits Melanie Stryder's body. Initially, Wanda follows her mission but gradually begins to feel human emotions and becomes attached to people, especially Jared and Jamie. Her development involves transitioning from unconditionally fulfilling her task to understanding and accepting human nature and emotions.
• Melanie Stryder - a young woman whose body is taken over by Wanda. Despite this, her consciousness remains active, and she fights for control over her body. Melanie is strong and determined, and her love for Jared and her brother Jamie helps her resist Wanda and ultimately cooperate with her.
• Jared Howe - Melanie's beloved, who initially distrusts Wanda, seeing her as an enemy. However, over time, he begins to see more in her than just an invader, and his attitude towards her changes, reflecting his internal conflict and development.
• Ian O'Shea - one of the surviving humans who is initially hostile towards Wanda but gradually falls in love with her. His development involves overcoming prejudice and accepting Wanda as a person.
• Jamie Stryder - Melanie's younger brother, who quickly becomes attached to Wanda, seeing more in her than just an alien Soul. His innocence and kindness play a crucial role in the development of relationships between Wanda and other characters.
