Main Characters and Their Development

• Felix Krull — the main character and narrator of the novel. From childhood, he shows a tendency towards deception and adventure. Felix possesses natural charm and the ability to adapt to any circumstances, allowing him to successfully deceive those around him and climb the social ladder. His development in the book shows how he gradually becomes more skilled and confident in his schemes, moving from minor pranks to major cons.
• Ludovico Krull — Felix's father, owner of a wine factory. He went bankrupt and took his own life, which was one of the first serious shocks in Felix's life and pushed him towards an adventurous lifestyle.
• Elizabeth Krull — Felix's mother, who is forced to work to support the family after her husband's death. Her resilience and dedication to the family have a significant impact on Felix.
• Diana Hupfner — Felix's first love, the daughter of a wealthy industrialist. Their relationship begins as innocent youthful infatuation, but over time Felix uses it for his own selfish purposes.
• Marquis de Venosta — an aristocrat whom Felix meets in Paris. The Marquis becomes a friend and patron to Felix, helping him enter high society. Ultimately, Felix assumes his identity to continue his adventures.
