Main Characters and Their Development

• Celaena Sardothien - the main protagonist, known as the most dangerous assassin in Erilea. At the beginning of the book, she is imprisoned but gets a chance for freedom by participating in a tournament to become the King's Champion. As the story progresses, Celaena reveals her hidden abilities and secrets of her past, becoming more determined and self-assured.
• Dorian Havilliard - the Crown Prince of Adarlan, who shows interest in Celaena. He is kind and just but must contend with the expectations of his father, the King. Throughout the story, he begins to realize his responsibility and role in changing the world.
• Chaol Westfall - the Captain of the Royal Guard and a friend of Dorian. Initially skeptical of Celaena, he gradually begins to trust her and even develops feelings for her. Chaol embodies honor and duty, and his development is tied to the internal struggle between these values and personal feelings.
• Nehemia Ytger - the Princess of Eyllwe, who becomes friends with Celaena. She is intelligent and possesses magical abilities, which she keeps hidden from others. Nehemia plays a crucial role in uncovering magical secrets and supporting Celaena in her mission.
