Main Characters and Their Development
- Ged (Sparrowhawk) - The main character of the book, a young and talented wizard. At the beginning of the story, he is ambitious and full of pride, which leads to his downfall when he accidentally releases the Shadow. Throughout the book, he undergoes many trials, learns humility and responsibility, and ultimately finds a way to defeat the Shadow, becoming a more mature and wise person.
- Ogion - A wise and powerful mage, Ged's mentor. He teaches Ged the importance of humility and understanding the true nature of magic. Ogion plays a key role in shaping Ged's character and his path to maturity.
- Vetch - A friend and fellow student of Ged at the school of magic on the island of Roke. He supports Ged in difficult times and aids him in his quest. Vetch represents an example of loyal friendship and support.
- The Shadow - The antagonist, a dark entity accidentally released by Ged. The Shadow pursues Ged throughout the book, symbolizing his inner fears and weaknesses. Eventually, Ged defeats the Shadow by accepting it as part of himself.
