Main Characters and Their Development

• Will Freeman: Will is a 36-year-old bachelor who lives off the royalties from a song written by his father. At the beginning of the book, he is carefree and selfish, avoiding responsibility and serious relationships. However, as the story progresses, he begins to change thanks to his encounter with Marcus. Will learns to care for others and becomes more mature and responsible.
• Marcus Brewer: Marcus is a 12-year-old boy who suffers from bullying at school and family problems. He lives with his mother, who struggles with depression. At the start of the book, Marcus feels lonely and isolated. However, through his friendship with Will, he begins to find his place in the world, learns to be more confident, and cope with challenges.
• Fiona Brewer: Fiona is Marcus's mother, who suffers from depression. She is caring but often unable to manage her own emotions and problems. Throughout the book, she goes through crises but eventually starts seeking help and support, which helps her improve her relationship with her son.
• Rachel: Rachel is a woman Will starts dating. She is a single mother, and her relationship with Will helps him understand the importance of responsibility and caring for others. Rachel also helps Will and Marcus strengthen their friendship and support each other.
