Main Characters and Their Development

• Thomas Harvey - the main character, a young man who sets out on a journey aboard the ship "The Running on the Waves." Throughout his journey, he meets many interesting people and experiences numerous adventures, helping him better understand himself and the world around him.
• Fräulein Grant - a mysterious and beautiful girl whom Thomas meets on the ship. She symbolizes the dream and ideal that the protagonist strives for. Fräulein helps Thomas realize the importance of following his dreams and ideals.
• Captain Gez - the captain of the ship "The Running on the Waves." He is an experienced sailor who assists Thomas on his journey and becomes a mentor to him. Captain Gez embodies the wisdom and experience that aid the protagonist in his spiritual growth.
• Butler - a friend of Thomas who also embarks on the journey. He represents a more grounded and practical person, helping the protagonist stay connected to reality.
