Main Characters and Their Development

• Simón Bolívar - the main character of the book, known as the Liberator, who in the last days of his life travels along the Magdalena River. In the book, he is depicted as a man disillusioned with his ideals and political career, experiencing a crisis and reflecting on his achievements and failures. Bolívar is portrayed as a complex and contradictory personality who, despite his successes, feels lonely and misunderstood.
