Summary

«The Machine Stops» is a dystopian novella depicting a world where humanity lives underground in isolated cells, entirely dependent on the Machine, which caters to all their needs. People have lost the ability for physical contact and communication, relying on the Machine for connection and information. The main characters, mother Vashti and her son Kuno, have differing views on the Machine.
