• The main character is a lazy man who embodies the extreme degree of laziness and inactivity. He does not want to work and prefers others to take care of him. His laziness is so great that he cannot even get up to eat and expects food to be brought to him. Throughout the story, his laziness becomes increasingly apparent and absurd, leading others to avoid and despise him.
