Main Characters and Their Development

• America Singer: The main heroine of the book, a girl from the fifth caste participating in the Selection. At the beginning of the book, she doesn't want to join the contest as she is in love with Aspen. However, as the story progresses, she starts developing feelings for Prince Maxon and realizes her strength and independence.
• Prince Maxon Schreave: The heir to the throne of Illéa, conducting the Selection to find a bride. Initially, he seems cold and distant, but gradually reveals himself as a kind and caring person. His relationship with America evolves from friendship to romantic feelings.
• Aspen Leger: America's first love, a young man from the sixth caste. At the beginning of the book, he breaks up with America, believing he cannot provide her with a decent life. However, he later becomes a guard at the palace and continues to have feelings for America, creating a love triangle.
• Queen Amberly Schreave: Prince Maxon's mother, who supports and guides him during the Selection. She is an example of kindness and wisdom, and her relationship with Maxon shows the importance of family support.
• King Clarkson Schreave: Prince Maxon's father, a strict and demanding ruler. His methods of governance and attitude towards the Selection often cause tension and conflicts, both with the participants and his own son.
