Main Characters and Their Development

• Andrew Wiggin (Ender) - the main protagonist of the book, who is the Speaker for the Dead. He travels the universe to tell the truth about the lives of the deceased. In this book, he faces new moral and ethical challenges when he arrives on the planet Lusitania, home to the intelligent beings known as Pequeninos. Andrew seeks to understand and resolve conflicts between humans and Pequeninos, as well as uncover the mysteries surrounding the Ribeira family’s past.
• Novinha Ribeira - a young woman living on Lusitania, part of the family around which the main events unfold. She struggles with internal conflicts and tries to find her place in the world, especially after the death of her father and brother.
• Pipo and Libo - father and son who were xenologists on Lusitania studying the Pequeninos. Their tragic fate and death become a central mystery that Andrew attempts to solve.
• Pequeninos (Piggies) - intelligent beings living on Lusitania. Their culture and biology play a key role in the plot's development, and through interactions with them, Andrew and other characters learn to understand and accept differences between species.
• Valentine Wiggin - Andrew's sister, who also plays an important role in his life and supports him in difficult times.
