Main Characters and Their Development

• Kaz Brekker: Leader of the 'Six of Crows' gang, known as Kaz 'Dirtyhands'. He is smart, calculating, and ruthless, yet has a complex past involving the loss of his brother and betrayal. Throughout the book, Kaz reveals his vulnerability and humanity, especially in his relationship with Inej.
• Inej Ghafa: Also known as 'The Wraith', Inej is a master of stealth and acrobatics. She was kidnapped and sold into slavery, but Kaz rescued her and made her part of his team. Inej strives to free other slaves and find her family. In the book, she battles her inner demons and develops feelings for Kaz.
• Jesper Fahey: A sharpshooter and gambler, Jesper has incredible aim. He hides his Grisha nature and struggles with a gambling addiction. Throughout the book, Jesper begins to accept himself as he is and learns to control his vices.
• Nina Zenik: A Grisha Heartrender capable of manipulating people's bodies. Nina was a spy and was captured, but later joined Kaz's team. She has a complicated relationship with Matthias, a former Grisha hunter, and in the book, she fights for his trust and love, as well as her own freedom.
• Matthias Helvar: A former Grisha hunter from Fjerda, Matthias was betrayed by Nina and imprisoned. In the book, he struggles with his hatred for Grisha and his feelings for Nina. Gradually, he begins to realize that his prejudices were wrong and learns to trust and love.
• Wylan Van Eck: The son of a wealthy merchant, Wylan ran away from home due to his father's abuse. He is a talented alchemist and demolition expert. In the book, Wylan finds his independence and self-confidence, and also develops a romantic relationship with Jesper.
