Laurus
Summary
The novel «Laurus» by Eugene Vodolazkin tells the story of the life and spiritual quest of the main character, Arseny, who lives in medieval Russia. Arseny possesses the gift of healing, inherited from his grandfather, and uses it to help people. However, after the tragic death of his beloved Ustina, he feels guilt and decides to dedicate his life to atoning for his sins. Arseny takes on the name Laurus and embarks on a pilgrimage to seek forgiveness and spiritual cleansing. Traveling through different countries and eras, he meets many people and undergoes various trials that help him understand the true meaning of love, faith, and self-sacrifice. Eventually, Laurus returns to his homeland, where he continues to help people and finds inner peace.
