Main Characters and Their Development

• Vika Lyubetskaya - the main character, a tenth-grade student. She is smart, beautiful, and independent, unafraid to express her opinion. Vika faces difficulties and injustice but maintains her inner strength and resilience.
• Iskra Polyakova - Vika's best friend, also a tenth-grade student. Iskra is an activist and a Komsomol member, believing in the ideals of communism. She experiences an internal conflict when faced with a reality that does not match her ideals.
• Roman Lyubetsky - Vika's father, an engineer. He supports his daughter and tries to protect her from injustice. Roman is a man of strong principles and a high sense of justice.
• Yevgeny Stepanovich - a literature teacher who plays an important role in the students' lives. He inspires them to think and helps them understand complex life questions. Yevgeny Stepanovich is a wise and fair mentor.
• Sasha Stepanov - a classmate of Vika and Iskra, in love with Vika. Sasha is an honest and kind young man, ready to help his friends in difficult times. His feelings for Vika help him become more mature and responsible.
