Main Characters and Their Development

• Los - An engineer and inventor who builds a spaceship and travels to Mars. He is the main initiator of the expedition and seeks to explore the unknown. Throughout the story, Los demonstrates leadership qualities and a scientific approach to problem-solving.
• Gusev - A former Red Army soldier who accompanies Los on the expedition. He is characterized by bravery, determination, and straightforwardness. Gusev often acts impulsively, but his courage and loyalty make him a vital team member.
• Aelita - A Martian princess who becomes the object of Los's affection. She symbolizes the mystery and romance of Mars. Aelita strives to understand the Earthlings and their culture, leading to her internal conflict between duty to her people and personal feelings.
• Tuskub - The ruler of Mars, who seeks to maintain power and order on the planet. He perceives the Earthlings as a threat and tries to resist their influence. Tuskub embodies conservative forces resisting change.
