Summary
The Hobbit, or There and Back Again is an adventure novel by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, which tells the story of the journey of the main character, a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. Unexpectedly for himself, Bilbo becomes part of an expedition to reclaim the lost kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. He is accompanied by the wizard Gandalf and thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield. During the adventures, Bilbo finds a ring that grants invisibility, saves his companions from numerous dangerous situations, and encounters various creatures, including goblins, wargs, elves, and a man named Bard, who ultimately kills Smaug. Upon returning home, Bilbo discovers that he was presumed missing and only begins to understand how much his journey has changed his perception of the world.
