Summary

«Markheim» is a story about a man named Markheim who enters an antique shop with the intention of committing a crime. He kills the shop owner but then encounters a mysterious stranger who prompts him to reflect on his life and actions. Through his conversation with the stranger, Markheim realizes his mistakes and decides to change his life. By the end of the story, he chooses to surrender to the police, acknowledging his guilt and hoping for redemption.
