Summary

The tragedy «Medea» by Seneca tells a story of revenge and passion. The main character, Medea, upon discovering the betrayal of her husband Jason, who decides to marry the daughter of Creon, the king of Corinth, resolves to take revenge. She kills Jason's new bride and her father, and then, in an act of extreme cruelty, kills her own children to inflict maximum pain on Jason. At the end of the tragedy, Medea leaves Corinth in a chariot drawn by dragons, leaving Jason in despair and grief.
