Main Characters and Their Development
- Harry Goldfarb: A young man who dreams of a better life. At the beginning of the book, he is full of hope and plans, but his life gradually falls apart due to drug addiction. Harry becomes increasingly alienated and desperate, losing touch with reality and his loved ones.
