Main Characters and Their Development

• Momo (Moses) - The main character and narrator of the story. Momo is a Jewish boy living in Paris. At the beginning of the book, he feels lonely and neglected, with a father who is cold and distant. Momo finds solace in his friendship with Monsieur Ibrahim, the owner of a grocery store. Under Monsieur Ibrahim's influence, Momo begins to better understand life, religion, and love. By the end of the book, he becomes a more confident and mature person.
• Monsieur Ibrahim - An elderly Muslim, owner of a grocery store in Paris. He becomes a mentor and friend to Momo. Monsieur Ibrahim teaches Momo life wisdom, tolerance, and love. He shows the boy that happiness can be found in simple things. At the end of the book, Monsieur Ibrahim passes away, leaving Momo as the heir to his store and his life philosophy.
• Momo's Father - A cold and distant man who struggles with the loss of his wife and caring for his son. He often falls into depression and ultimately leaves Momo by committing suicide. His departure becomes a turning point in Momo's life, prompting him to seek support and love from others.
• Momo's Mother - She left the family when Momo was still young. Her absence greatly affects Momo and his father. At the end of the book, Momo meets his mother, but their reunion does not bring him the expected comfort.
