Brief Overview

The Name of the Wind is the first book in Patrick Rothfuss's trilogy, The Kingkiller Chronicle. The protagonist, Kvothe, narrates the story of his life, beginning with his childhood in a troupe of traveling performers. He endures the tragic loss of his family at the hands of mysterious beings known as the Chandrian. Kvothe sets off for the University to study magic and seek answers about the Chandrian. He faces numerous challenges, including poverty, rivalry, and danger, but also finds friendship and love.
