The Blizzard

Summary

The novella "The Blizzard" by Alexander Pushkin tells the tragic and romantic love story of Maria Gavrilovna and Vladimir Nikolaevich. The young couple decides to secretly marry, but on the night of their elopement, a fierce blizzard begins, and Vladimir loses his way. Maria, waiting in vain for her groom, returns home. Vladimir soon dies in the war. Years later, Maria meets Colonel Burmin, who turns out to be the very man who accidentally married her on that stormy night.
