Pollyanna

Main Characters and Their Development

• Pollyanna Whittier - a young girl, an orphan who moves to live with her Aunt Polly. Despite challenges and trials, she always seeks something good in every situation. She is the central figure of the novel, around whom the entire plot revolves. Pollyanna changes throughout the book, gaining new friends and transforming the lives of those around her with her positive attitude.
• Aunt Polly - Polly Harrington, a strict and pragmatic woman who takes Pollyanna in after the girl's father's death. Living with Pollyanna gradually changes her views and opens her heart to greater compassion and love.
• Jimmy Bean - a boy from a poor family, a friend of Pollyanna. His life changes thanks to meeting Pollyanna.
• John Pendleton - a lonely and wealthy gentleman whose life also changes for the better after meeting Pollyanna. His character becomes more open and friendly.
• Tommy Dillon - another of Pollyanna's friends. With his help, Pollyanna demonstrates how life can be improved with the right attitude.
