Main Characters and Their Development

• Tender Branson - the main character of the book, the last surviving member of the Creedish religious sect. At the beginning of the book, he works as a domestic servant, leading an empty, meaningless life by following the instructions given to him. As the plot develops, Tender becomes more self-aware and begins to fight for his individuality and freedom. He goes through numerous trials, including manipulation by the media and the government, ultimately finding his own path.
• Fertility Hollis - a girl with the gift of foresight. She plays a crucial role in Tender's life, helping him realize his true self and fight against the system. Fertility also undergoes internal changes, starting with a cynical and detached attitude towards life and ending with a deeper understanding of herself and her abilities.
• Adam Branson - Tender's older brother, who was also a member of the Creedish sect. Adam escaped the sect and became a criminal, which greatly influenced Tender. His image and actions serve as a catalyst for many of Tender's decisions and actions throughout the book.
