Brief Overview

The play «Poverty is No Vice» by Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky tells the story of a merchant family. The main characters are the wealthy merchant Gordey Tortsev and his daughter Lyubov. Lyubov is in love with the poor clerk Mitya, but Gordey wants her to marry the rich merchant Lazar Elizarich.
