Main Characters and Their Development

• Louisa Clark: A young woman who works in a café but loses her job and is forced to find a new one. She becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor. Louisa is cheerful, eccentric, and kind-hearted, gradually discovering new qualities in herself, such as determination and the ability to self-sacrifice. Through her work with Will, she begins to realize that her life can be much richer and more interesting than she imagined.
• Will Traynor: A former successful businessman and athlete who becomes paralyzed after an accident. Initially cynical and depressed, Will starts to find joy in life again thanks to Louisa. Despite this, he remains firm in his decision to end his life through euthanasia, which becomes the central conflict of the book. His relationship with Louisa helps him feel alive again, but it does not change his final decision.
• Camilla Traynor: Will's mother, who hires Louisa in the hope that she can change her son's mind. Camilla is a strict and reserved woman who deeply cares for her son and is willing to do anything to help him.
• Steven Traynor: Will's father, who also hopes that Louisa can help their son. He is less emotionally involved than his wife but still cares about Will's well-being.
• Patrick: Louisa's boyfriend, who is passionate about sports and his health. He doesn't understand why Louisa devotes so much time and effort to Will, leading to tension in their relationship.
