Main Characters and Their Development

• Ronia - the main character of the book, daughter of Mattis, the leader of the robbers. She grows up in the forest, surrounded by nature and the life of robbers. Ronia is a brave, independent, and curious girl who seeks to understand the world around her. As she develops, she learns to distinguish between good and evil, friendship and betrayal, and finds her place in the world.
• Birk - the son of Borka, the leader of the rival robber clan. He becomes Ronia's best friend despite the feud between their families. Birk is kind, honest, and a loyal friend who supports Ronia in difficult times. Their friendship is tested and strengthened despite family conflicts.
• Mattis - Ronia's father, the leader of the robbers. He loves his daughter and tries to protect her from the dangers of the world. Mattis is hot-tempered and stubborn, but throughout the story, he learns to make decisions that go against his previous beliefs for Ronia's happiness.
• Lovisa - Ronia's mother, a wise and caring woman who supports her daughter and husband. She plays an important role in reconciling the feuding clans and helps Ronia find her path.
• Borka - Birk's father, the leader of the rival robber clan. He also cares for his son and ultimately agrees to a truce for the sake of the children's future.
