The Magician's Nephew
Summary
«The Magician's Nephew» is the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. The story begins in London, where a boy named Digory Kirke and his friend Polly Plummer accidentally become involved in the magical experiments of Digory's uncle, Andrew. Uncle Andrew uses magical rings to send the children to other worlds. Digory and Polly find themselves in the dying world of Charn, where they inadvertently awaken the evil Queen Jadis. They then arrive in a new world, Narnia, at the moment of its creation. They witness the lion Aslan creating Narnia and help him deal with the threat posed by Jadis. Eventually, Digory and Polly return to their own world, bringing with them a magical apple that heals Digory's sick mother and becomes the foundation for a magical tree, from which the famous wardrobe leading to Narnia is later made.
