Summary
The novel «Christ Recrucified» by Nikos Kazantzakis narrates the events taking place in the Greek village of Lycovrissi in 1921. The villagers are preparing for their annual festival, during which they reenact the Passion of Christ. The main characters include Manolios, a shepherd chosen to play the role of Christ, and other villagers who take on the roles of apostles and other biblical figures.
