Brief Overview
«God Emperor of Dune» is the fourth book in Frank Herbert's Dune series. The story takes place 3,500 years after the events of «Children of Dune». Leto Atreides II, the son of Paul Atreides, has become the God Emperor and transformed into a giant worm with a human mind. He rules the Empire with an iron fist, striving to implement his «Golden Path»—a plan to ensure humanity's survival. Leto controls the spice production and maintains a harsh order to prevent chaos and destruction. However, his reign sparks discontent and resistance. The book explores themes of power, sacrifice, and destiny, as well as the complex relationships between Leto and his subjects, including his close friend Hwi Noree and the rebellious Duncan Idaho.
