Main Characters and Their Development
- Sam - One of the two kidnappers who, along with Bill, abducts the boy for ransom. Sam is the more rational and cautious of the two, but ultimately finds himself in a difficult situation due to the boy's nature.
- Bill - The second kidnapper who, along with Sam, abducts the boy. Bill is more emotional and less patient than Sam. He suffers the most from the boy's antics and is eventually willing to pay to get rid of him.
