Main Characters and Their Development

• Ilya Goryunov - the main character of the book. A young man who spent seven years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. After his release, he tries to return to normal life but faces numerous challenges. His development in the book is tied to his quest for justice and revenge for his ruined life.
• Pyotr Khazin - the antagonist, a young and successful FSB officer who framed Ilya and sent him to prison. Throughout the story, his character is revealed as someone willing to do anything for his career and well-being.
