Main Characters and Their Development

• Hunter - One of the main characters of the book, returning after the events of the first book. He is an experienced and hardened stalker who embarks on a dangerous journey through the metro to uncover the cause of the communication breakdown with one of the stations. Along the way, he confronts his inner demons and seeks meaning in his existence.
• Homer - An elderly man, a former metro train driver, who joins Hunter on his journey. He dreams of writing a book about life in the metro and hopes that his journey with Hunter will provide him with material for it. Homer symbolizes wisdom and the desire to preserve history.
• Sasha - A young woman who joins Hunter and Homer. She is the daughter of a station commander and strives to prove her independence and ability to survive in the harsh world of the metro. Throughout the journey, she matures and finds her place in this world.
