The Peripheral
Summary
The book "The Peripheral" by William Gibson unfolds across two timelines: the near future and a more distant future. In the near future, Flynne Fisher lives in a small town, working at a 3D printing shop and moonlighting in video games. Her brother Burton, a former Marine, lands a job beta-testing a new game, but when Flynne steps in for him, she witnesses a murder. In the more distant future, in London, Wilf Netherton works in public relations and becomes entangled in the aftermath of this murder. Both worlds are connected through a mysterious device called the "peripheral," which allows interaction between the timelines. Flynne and Wilf join forces to uncover the conspiracy behind the murder and prevent catastrophic events in both worlds.
