Main Characters and Their Development

• Richard - a young Brit seeking adventure on the coast of Thailand. His character is marked by curiosity and a thirst for something new and unusual. • Françoise - a French girl, Étienne's partner. She is characterized by courage, friendliness, and a willingness to help in difficult situations. • Étienne - Françoise's partner, also French. He is described as thoughtful and cautious.
