Main Characters and Their Development

• Charlie Nancy — the main character, who at the beginning of the book is an ordinary man working in an office. He learns of his father's death and soon discovers that his father was Anansi, the African trickster god. Charlie gradually uncovers his own magical abilities and learns to use them to confront his brother and other dangers.
• Spider — Charlie's brother, who inherited magical abilities from their father. Unlike Charlie, Spider is charismatic and confident from the start. He often uses his abilities for personal gain, but as the story progresses, his character becomes more complex and multifaceted.
• Anansi — the father of Charlie and Spider, the African trickster god. Although he dies at the beginning of the book, his influence and legacy play a crucial role in the development of the plot and characters.
• Rosie Noah — Charlie's fiancée, who supports him through difficult times. She helps Charlie cope with his new responsibilities and magical abilities.
• Graham Coats — the antagonist, Charlie's boss, who is involved in criminal activities. His actions lead to conflict with Charlie and his brother.
