Main Characters and Their Development

• Claire Randall — the main protagonist, a nurse from 1945 who accidentally ends up in 1743. She tries to adapt to the new time using her medical knowledge and skills. Along the way, she meets Jamie Fraser and falls in love with him, leading to complex moral and emotional dilemmas.
• Jamie Fraser — a Scottish warrior who becomes Claire's husband. He goes through numerous trials, demonstrating his bravery, honor, and loyalty. His relationship with Claire evolves from distrust and suspicion to deep love and mutual respect.
• Frank Randall — Claire's husband in 1945, a historian. His relationship with Claire is complicated by her disappearance and subsequent return. He tries to understand and accept the changes that have occurred in her.
