Summary

The Count of Monte Cristo is a novel about justice, revenge, love, and forgiveness. Alexandre Dumas tells the story of Edmond Dantès, a young sailor who is unjustly imprisoned on the island of If for a crime he did not commit. After fourteen years of imprisonment, Dantès escapes with the help of a hidden treasure, gains wealth, and under the new name of the Count of Monte Cristo, embarks on a path of vengeance and righteous retribution against those who destroyed his life. Through a series of carefully planned events and unexpected twists, Dantès gradually dismantles the lives of his enemies. However, in his pursuit of revenge, he faces moral dilemmas and questions about the meaning of justice, forgiveness, and true love.
