Main Characters and Their Development

• Ivan Petrovich - the main character and narrator, a writer who returns to St. Petersburg after a long absence. He is a kind and compassionate person who strives to help those around him but often finds himself in difficult situations due to his kindness.
• Natasha Ikhmeneva - Ivan Petrovich's beloved, the daughter of Nikolai Sergeyevich Ikhmenev. She is a strong and determined young woman who is ready to fight for her love but faces many challenges and trials.
• Alyosha Valkovsky - a young man in love with Natasha. He is the son of Prince Valkovsky, a person with a contradictory character who tries to find his path in life but often falls under his father's influence.
• Prince Valkovsky - Alyosha's father, a man with a cruel and selfish nature. He manipulates those around him to achieve his goals and stops at nothing to get what he wants.
• Nikolai Sergeyevich Ikhmenev - Natasha's father, a former manager of Prince Valkovsky. He is an honest and noble man who suffers from betrayal and injustice but maintains his dignity and belief in justice.
